Theodore Arndt Hill, know to all as T.A., died Friday morning, November 11, 2016 at the Haven of Show Low in Show Low, Arizona from natural causes incident to his age. He was 96 years old. T.A. was born on December 28, 1919, in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio to his parents, the late George and Vemba Fae (Harding) Hill. In 1939, T.A. married his forever sweetheart Shirley Ann nee Keim. When she passed away, only last month, the couple had celebrated 77 years of wedded bliss, together. As a young man, during the height of WWII, he served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Dog Corps and had a trusting Doberman pincer that served right along side of him. His service took him to the South Pacific where, as a team with his Doberman, they flushed many of the enemy from their hiding places.About 64 years ago, T.A. and Shirley moved to Arizona. As a younger man, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge. T.A. was a general contractor throughout his life and was owner of H & P Construction in the White Mountains for more than 50 years. He built many, many homes as well as countless other buildings on the mountain.T.A. is survived by his 2 sons: Jim Hill and his wife, Glenda, of Mesa, Arizona, Jeff Hill and his wife, Lida, of Concho, Arizona; 2 grandsons: Jeff (Sandra) Hill of Gilbert, Arizona, and Brad (Harriet) Hill of Phoenix, Arizona. Along with his parents and wife, T.A. was preceded in death by 2 grandsons: Daniel Hill and T.J. Hill.A private family service, with military honors, will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
