Jerry Don Taylor Sr., 84, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Clay Springs, Arizona. Jerry was born March 18, 1932 in Mesa, Arizona to Don and Lucy Taylor. He married his sweetheart, Betty Brewer in 1953 and was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1963. They have been married for 63 years. Jerry first went to work when he was nine years old and worked many jobs until his retirement from the Postal Service in 1994. He served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. Jerry enjoyed traveling, playing pranks, dressing up for holidays, being Beauregard, visiting with anyone, serving others, playing with his grand and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served great in many capacities. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; daughters Beverly (Loren) Jackson; Kathy (George) Katich; Cheri (Jim) Craghead; Sally (David) Blalock; Wendy (Jim) Guin; Amy (Dion) Packer; Mollie (Justin) Bigelow; Katie (RJ) Tomerlin; son Jerry Jr.; 38 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15 from 6:00-7:00 at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th St., Show Low, AZ. Funeral services will be held at the Clay Springs chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5150 Highway 260 on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 2:00pm, with a viewing one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Clay Springs Cemetery.
