Michael Allan Lorensen, unexpectedly died on Monday, July 11, 2016, in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona, following a sudden illness. He was 58 years old. Michael was born on a Tuesday, February 25, 1958, in Torrence, Los Angeles County, California to his parents, Kenneth Mervyn and the late Betty Jean (Tinney) Lorensen.Mike was a member of Buckeye Union High School's Class of 1976, and was looking forward to celebrating his 40th year reunion this year. Mike made a career serving the needs of those within his communities. He worked for the Buckeye Police Department for 3 years before moving to Denison, Texas where he remained in its Police Department for 25 years. He retired as a Police Lieutenant and was looking forward towards his retirement years, making a home in the White Mountains of Arizona. Mike was a man you loved being outside. He was an incredible outdoorsman and loved to go fish and hunt with his family and friends. He will be missed a great deal by everyone whom has had the privilege to call him a friend but, none will miss him more than those within his own family. Michael Allan Lorensen is survived by his wife, Ann Martin Stuckey FitzGerald of Mesa, Arizona; his father, Kenneth (Augusta Clarkson) Lorensen of Show Low, Arizona; 1 son, Kenneth Marshall Lorensen; 2 step-daughters: Elizabeth FitzGerald, Katherine FitzGerald; 2 brothers: Mark (Melissa) Lorensen of Denison, Texas, Steven (Rhonda) Lorensen, of Rio Verde, Arizona; 2 sisters: Pamela (John) McCormick of Buckeye, Arizona, Heather (Shawn) Taylor of Denison, Texas and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.A public memorial service will begin 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Central Christian Church, 933 N. Lindsay Road in Mesa, Arizona. All are invited to stay following the service for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Memorial contributions, in his name, to the Central Christian Church have been suggested by his family.
