Geraldine Willis

Geraldine Gardner Willis, age 87, passed away peacefully in Linden, Navajo County, Arizona on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. She was born at home in Linden, Arizona on August 19, 1928, the sixth of eight children to William Clark Gardner and Martha Alice Willis Gardner. She is survived by her youngest sister, Leabeth McLaws.   She and her seven siblings had a very happy home and wonderful memories growing up in Linden, such as riding horses, ice skating, playing ball, etc. Geraldine (Gerry) married her high school sweetheart in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 18, 1945. They were happily married for 47 years.   They have eight living children, Randy, Linda Billings, Carol Maxwell, Melvin, John, Lynee Crank, James and Nylene Wood. They have 31 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren (3 more due this summer), and 6 great-great-grandchildren.   Cleon and Gerry lived in Snowflake, Arizona until December 1956 when they moved into their new home in Show Low, Arizona. Cleon preceded her in passing in 1992. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She shared her many talents. She loved sewing, quilting, camping, dancing, singing, and most of all, she loved her family get-togethers.   She worked faithfully in many church callings, including being an ordinance worker in the Snowflake Temple. She lived a full, happy life and was loved by all who knew her.   Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 N. 11th Street, Show Low. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary~White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, from 6:00-8:00 PM, and 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Show Low Cemetery.
