Cressie Faye Nester of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Show Low. She was 93. Cressie was born the youngest of 7 children to Wilburn Martin and Effie (Wafford) Davis on January 2, 1923 in Clarendon, Donley County, Texas. She grew up in Memphis, Texas and graduated from Wellington High School on May 15, 1940 in Wellington, Texas. Following school she moved to Arizona and it was at the Hole in the Rock at Papago Park in Phoenix that she met the love of her life, Doyle Nester. It was a chance meeting as she was being bullied and Doyle came to her defense and as they say the rest is history. They were married on March 15, 1943 in Roswell, New Mexico. Doyle and Cressie lived in Holbrook for many years having owned and operated Nester Motors, working hand and hand together. She continued to work well into her 90’s. They moved to Show Low in 1975. God and family were always first in her life and her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved her Lord and was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother and granny to all and words alone cannot express how much she was loved and how deeply she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, a son-in-law, her parents and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Dinah Ridgley and her husband Dar; Doyletta Koury Morris and her husband Jim; 5 grandchildren, Darla and Danny Milam, DJ and Christy Ridgley, Shane and Sandi Koury, Michael and Carolyn Koury and DeeDee and James Lilly; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; extended family, Jamie and Jason Bell and their children as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
