Jesse Damien “Skye” Wallen of Cibecue, Navajo County, Arizona passed away on April 5, 2016 at his home in Cibecue. He was 23. Skye was born to his parents, Delbert Wallen Jr. and Narcisce (Cromwell) Wallen on April 29, 1992 in Springerville, Apache County, Arizona. He grew up in Cibecue having graduated 8th grade from the Dishchii` Bikoh Jr. High School. He then attended the Dishchii` Bikoh high school where he was active in sports. He played for the Cibecue Wildcats football team, wearing the number 55. He was very popular in football and earned the nickname “Pretty Boy” while playing center and earned the tile “Most Improved Player.”. Skye also was active with the basketball team serving as team manager. He graduated from the 12th grade at the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Skye had many friends. He was easy going and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always smiling, laughing and joking around with his sisters. He enjoyed kicking back watching movies with his friends and listening to Reggae and Gospel music. Skye also enjoyed visiting with the Missionaries from the Cibecue branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the members of the Jehovah Witness Church in Show Low. Skye looked forward to the family get-togethers where he enjoyed cooking and baking for his family. He truly was the best cook. He loved being around his nieces and nephews. An avid outdoorsman he loved to fish, camp and picnic in the woods. A carpenter by trade he enjoyed wood work for his grandfather and fixing his car and truck when needed. A loving son and brother Skye will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his parents, Delbert Jr. and Narcisce Wallen of Cibecue; sisters, Richanda (Matthew Jr.) Ivins-Kane of McNary, Arizona, Breanna K. (Nicholas Begay) Wallen of Show Low; nephew, Nikhil Kane; nieces, Amarii Kane, Kaiori Ethelbah, Noelani Kane and Harmony Begay; paternal grandparents, Delbert Sr. and Joyce Wallen of Cibecue; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Mason of Cibecue; Godparents, Lincoln Early Jr., Elvera Early and Loren Henry; Godbrothers, Crispin James, Jeremy Cromwell and JR Early; Godsisters, Shelby Pretty Eagle Dazen, Manica Fish and Shayanne Dwayne as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Morley Cromwell Sr.; great-grandmothers, Minnie Narcisco and Rose Lupe; aunt, Delma Ivins and uncles, Delmore Wallen Sr. and Morley Cromwell Jr.. A two night wake will begin 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the family home, 218 E. Hollywood Hill Area, Cibecue. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Branch Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the interment to follow in the Where The River Flows Family Plot in Cibecue.
