Glenn Walter Elliott Jr.

Glenn Elliott, Jr. passed away on March 27, 2016 in Lakeside, Arizona. He was born on March 6, 1923 in Howard, New York to his parents, Glenn W. and Jessie (Burgett) Elliott. In 1982 Glenn was Born Again by receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. He served as assistant Sunday school director and was active in many areas of ministry, as a member of Arizona Avenue Baptist Church, in Chandler, Arizona.  In 1989 Glenn and his wife, Eloise, transferred their membership to Saguaro Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona. They served there until 1993. They then moved to Show Low, Arizona and joined their membership with the First Baptist Church there. He served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. After the loss of his wife, he joined the Linden Hills Family Fellowship where his son, Kenneth Elliott, pastors. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He also loved and collected things from the Old West Era. Glenn is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Thelma) Elliott of Show Low, Arizona, Gary (Carolyn) Elliott of Show Low and Christopher Elliott of Arizona City, Arizona; daughters, Susan (Bryan) Burt of Tucson, Arizona, Sheron (Ron) Matthews of Mesa, Arizona and Gail (Jimmy) Poindexter of Cabot, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Catherine Jacobs of New York. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise; his parents and a sister, Amy. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Linden Hills Family Fellowship, P.O. Box 187, Show Low, Arizona 85902 in Glenn’s name. A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Linden Hills Family Fellowship, 1013 Verona Lane, Linden.
