Kerry Lee Button, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away following a lengthy 6 year battle with cancer, in Show Low on March 11, 2016. She was 54. Kerry was born to her parents, George and Kathleen Alayne (Thompson) Lastiwka in Manville, Alberta, Canada on March 5, 1962.She attended the University of Alberta Hospital Nursing Program in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where she graduated with her Nursing Degree. She worked for the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in the Oncology Department before transferring to Med. Surg 2. She taught the Northland Pioneer College Nursing Program for many years where she precepted many new nurses. She enjoying cross stitching, knitting, traveling and photography. She loved her family and her dogs. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James Button of Show Low; children, James and Kathlin Button of Show Low; father, George Lastiwka of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; sister, Georgina Atkin (Christopher) of Edmonton, Alberta Canada; brothers, Ken, William, Ted and Darrell (Mary) Lastiwka all of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alayne Lastiwka and brothers, Wayne and Patrick Lastiwka.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center Caner Research, 2200 S. Show Low Lake Road, Show Low, AZ 85901 or to the family’s flower fund, Flower Bees, 1662 E. White Mountain Boulevard, Pinetop, Arizona 85935.Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary~White MountainChapel, 320 North 9th Street, Show Low with a viewing 1 hour prior to services.
