Virginia Lenore Tafoya

Virginia L Pena Tafoya (Honey), 78, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on March 3, 2016. She was born in St. Johns on November 1, 1937 to Grace and Eddie Pena, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her brother Frank Pena and her favorite niece Joanna Duvall.Virginia is survived by her 6 children, Angela Figueroa Baca of St. Johns AZ, Anthony Figueroa of Mesa AZ, Jesse Figueroa of St. Johns AZ, Patricia (Tisha) Figueroa of Longmont CO, Philip Figueroa of St. Johns, AZ, and Maria Tafoya of Longview, TX; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Her siblings included Odelia/Fred Duvall of Sun Valley, AZ, Eddie Pena Jr of California, Grace Pusich of Lakeside, AZ and Frank Pena (Deceased) of St. Johns, AZ.Virginia was loved by her many family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her love of music and her witty personality. She worked a variety of jobs up until she became disabled but never let that disability get in her way as she cared for her parents until the moment they passed away. She was an incredibly strong woman with a huge heart when it came to her family and close friends and will remain in hearts of many that loved her.The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place in St. Johns, AZ at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 95 S. 2nd St. E., on Saturday March 12, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. followed by the Mass at 10:00 A.M. ending with the reception at the church hall immediately following the memorial.The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to those who were a big part of her life and the support for her and her family as they were preparing for the final weeks of her life.
