Marie Alsenay, of Cibecue, Navajo County, Arizona passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 18, 2016 in Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona. She was 83. Marie was born to her parents the late, Daniel and Lillian (Lee) Tessay on February 12, 1933 in Cibecue. Marie was a loving and faithful servant to her Lord and Savior and was saved in 1969. She was a devoted member of the Cibecue Assembly of God church. Her hobbies include sewing, beadwork, making cradle boards, harvesting pinons and acorns, word search puzzles, jig saw puzzles and the outdoors. She was a champion Chinese checkers player and an outspoken advocate for her children and grandchildren. She really enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s baseball games. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Billy) Duryea Jr. of Whiteriver, Arizona, Revena Alsenay of Cibecue, Lorena Alsenay of Cibecue, Sally Alsenay of Hondah, Arizona and Carlinda Alsenay of Cibecue; sons, Tony (Zelda) Alsenay of Cibecue and Leander (Levinia) Alsenay of Cibecue; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alvina (Albert) Josay of Cibecue, Effie Wright of Seven Mile, Arizona and Minda Tessay of Cibecue; brothers, Chester (Jewel) Tessay of Cibecue, Jason (Virginia) Tessay of Cibecue and Samson Tessay of Cibecue. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Norwin Alsenay; great-great-granddaughter, Ivyana Lee; brothers, Curtis Tessay, Alexander Tessay and Jimmy Tessay. A two night wake will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the family home, 7 E. 4th St., Cibecue. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Cibecue Assembly of God Church with the interment to follow in the Sandy Rock Cemetery.
