Francis H. Boyer, 85, of Show Low died peacefully February 10, 2016. He was born on August 27, 1930 in Wadena, Minn. Frank led a very interesting life. He came from a strong Roman Catholic family. After spending 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean War he returned home and received his bachelor degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Frank never married. He joined the Capuchin Franciscan Order of Friars as a lay missionary and went to the Navajo reservation in Arizona to minister to the Indians. Frank worked at St Francis Mission in Sawmill, AZ showing the Navajo people how to run a trophy business. He was also at Window Rock, Fort Defiance and other locations on the reservation. He came to Show Low in the early 1980’s and set up his trophy business, ‘Bird-cloud Trophies and Gifts’ out of his home. He was quite the artist. Frank joined St. Rita Catholic Church and was very involved with many ministries there: Church Sacristan, Legion of Mary, Knights of Columbus, just to name a few. There were 12 children in his family and he is survived by 2 of his 9 sisters.Frank will be greatly missed by his family and his church family. There will be a viewing, funeral vigil and rosary at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Show Low, Arizona, 320 N. 9th St., on Tuesday Feb. 16 from 4 – 6 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita’s Church, Show Low at 11:00 A.M. on February 17, 2016.
