Jimmy Dave Dunaway

Jimmy Dave Dunaway died Friday, December 18, 2015 in South Jordan, Utah following a lengthy illness.  He was 47 years old.  Jimmy was born on August 30, 1968 in Show Low, Arizona to his parents, Jimmy Aubry and Merle Lee Dunaway.Jimmy was a graduate of Snowflake High School's Class of 1986.  During his junior year of high school, he was presented with the incredible opportunity to live in Hawaii while he worked for the Dole Pineapple Company picking pineapples.  During his year there, he was able to tour several of the Hawaiian Islands. He considered that year to be an unusual and unique one, but nonetheless, it was a great experience.Throughout his adult life, Jimmy worked 25 years in the trucking industry.  He started out working with the Hatch family.  Later, he worked with C.R. Smith for a number of years.  One thing that needs to be known about Jimmy is that he loved skiing and playing in the snow.  It was his love of the mountains and skiing that inspired him to move to Utah where he could appreciate the beauty of God's creations in the Wasatch Mountains.  While living in Utah, he worked for D & H Trucking of Spanish Fork and most recently, he worked for Kiva Energy out of Sandy, Utah.  Jimmy also knew his way around a kitchen.  He loved cooking.  Not just regular everyday cooking, he loved gourmet cooking.  He was a huge Bobby Flay fan and probably met the famous chef on at least one occasion.  Jimmy possessed an amazing personality and, throughout his life, was always very witty.  His sense of humor was unmatched by anybody and everyone always said, "he could have been a stand-up comedian."   Jimmy was also known to be a little bit stubborn at times!  Jimmy loved his grandparents, and even as a young boy, he developed a special bond with his Grandma Adell Lee.  For many years, he would send flowers and cards for her special occasions throughout the year, until she passed away a few years ago.  He loved her so very much and missed her a great deal.  He, too, loved his brothers and sister a lot and they knew he loved them.   As he was growing up, Jimmy enjoyed good harassment sessions with his brothers.  They always ribbed and kidded each other and developed an unbreakable bond and considered each other as best friends.  Though he didn't harass his sister the way he did his brothers, he always treated her with kindness and respect and had a great deal of admiration and love for her.  Jimmy was raised and taught by goodly parents whom always were a positive influence throughout his life.  His love for them was unmatched by any other.  Though Jimmy was loved by many and all who knew him, none will miss him more than his forever family.  His smile, his kindness and his infectious laughter will be missed a great deal.  He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Merle Lee Dunaway of Taylor, Arizona; 4 siblings:  Jack R. (DeDe) Dunaway of Taylor, Arizona, Jeff M. (Lisa) Dunaway of Mesa, Arizona, Jill (Dewitt) Parry of Mesa, Arizona, Justin C. Dunaway of Snowflake, Arizona and is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.A special memorial service for Jimmy will begin 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Centennial Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 800 N. Centennial Boulevard in Taylor, Arizona where a visitation will begin 1 hour prior.  Inurnment will take place at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
