Our beloved Mother, Joan S. Tanner, 85, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, from age related illnesses. She was born Aug. 28, 1930, in Winslow. She married the love of her life and eternal companion, James M. Tanner, who has been ever waiting their joyous reunion for the last 12, almost 13, years since he passed away. Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Yourgulez and Lynn Lewis; her sons, Richard Tanner, Thomas Tanner, Brandon Andrews and Brett Andrews; and two sisters, Annette Beckman and Sharon Wilcox. She also has 23 grandkids and 25 great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Tanner; her parents; and two brothers, Cole and Lee Shumway. Our mother was a great lady and always put others' needs ahead of her own. God and family were everything to her. She was very proud of her family and constantly talked about them. She loved the Lord and always tried to do what she thought was right. She was a great example to all of us in many ways and will be greatly missed. A special thanks goes to Tom's wife, Olivia, for the love and care she showed our mother when she needed it the most. No one could have done a better job. We want to thank her for this. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Holbrook Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1127 Helen Ave, Holbrook, Arizona. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery, 390 South 4th West, in Snowflake, Arizona. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
