JC Collis Jr. of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife on October 25, 2015 in Show Low. He was 85. JC was born to his parents the late, JC and Frances (Lawhorn) Collis on October 7, 1930 in Gunther, Grayson County, Texas. JC was employed as a supervisor for the Exxon Mobile Company for 33 years before his retirement in 1985 at the age of 55. He was a valued employee for many years, and in March of 1989 when the Exxon Valdez oil spill occurred, Exxon called JC back out of retirement to supervise the spill. He was a much loved person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed square dancing and being with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all whom he loved. He is survived by loving wife, Joy (Harris) Collis of Show Low; 2 sons, Jerry Collis and wife, Tricia of Chesapeake, Virginia and Gary Collis and wife, Kathy of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; grandchildren, Brian, JJ and Chris Collis, Tracy Polk and several great-grandchildren; He is also survived by a sister, Mary Jo Reynolds of Bremond, Texas; brother-in-law and best friend, Earnest Higgins and wife, Susie of Kerrville, Texas and several nieces and nephews and also a very special cousin, George Collis and wife, Marge of McKinney, Texas. JC was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alma; brother, Tom and sister, Frances Dailey. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Riverview Resort in Bullhead City, Arizona.
