Fay Stratton, age 99, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Carriage House in Snowflake, Arizona. She was born on October 24, 1915 in Pine, Arizona to Frank Campkin Randall and Lucinda Helen Leavitt Randall. She was one of 12 children. While visiting relatives in Winslow, she met Ralph Marion Harris and they were married in 1935 and made their home in Holbrook where they started their family. They were blessed with four children: Marian, Kay, Monty, and Marjory. In 1957, her first husband Ralph was killed in an automobile accident. Fay spent the next nine years raising her family and working for Whiting Brothers Oil Company in Holbrook. In 1966, Fay was reacquainted with a high school friend, Lynn (Curley) K. Stratton who was recently divorced and they were married in June of that year. She was thrilled when Lynn brought his four children, Barbara, Shirley, Dan, and Steve into the family. Curley, Fay, and family spent many wonderful years together. Curley passed away in 2005. Following is a list of the most important priorities and accomplishments in her life: Family - Serving Others - Friendships - Loved Cooking - Gardening - Sewing - Quilting- Sports- Reading - Canning and bottling for everyone - Traveling - Fishing - and National Finals Rodeo. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in Relief Society and Young Women and had a special place in her heart for her young women. Fay was called as a missionary to work with the youth in the Arizona Southwest Indian Mission. Fay is survived by sons, Monty ( Joy) Harris and Steve (Verlyn) Stratton of Snowflake; Dan (Iris) Stratton of Lehi, Arizona; Sons-in-law, Keith DeWitt of Holbrook and Larry Whipple of Show Low; daughters, Marjory (Dennis) Austin of Scottsdale, Arizona and Shirley (Hartley) Webb of Nebraska. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 29 great great grandchildren. One sister, Erma Blackburn of Pine, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Marion Harris, and her second husband, Lynn(Curley)K. Stratton; also daughters Marian DeWitt; Kay Harris and Barbara Whipple; grandson Kevin DeWitt; great grandchildren Garrett Lynn Smith, Brett DeWitt, Kaycee and Laurel DeWitt. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the owners and staff of the Carriage House. They were very loving, gentle, and kind to her. We also express thanks to the nurses of Hospice Compassus. A special thanks to her many friends especially Bishop Shea Flake and Bishop Doug Brimhall. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 48 N. Main Street in Snowflake from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at the Main Street Chapel on Saturday, September 26, 2015 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mike Ramsey Cemetery in Snowflake. Arrangements are being handled by Owens Livingston Mortuary who the family would like to thank for their extraordinary compassion for her family and care of our Mother.
