Linda Joyce Petersen

Linda Joyce Petersen, age 68, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her home in Snowflake, Arizona. She was born September 14, 1947 in Huntsville, Alabama to Wilbourn O. Dowdy and Martha Novella Mink Dowdy. Linda was a very loving and kind person who had a big heart and would do anything for absolutely anyone. She loved to teach music, especially singing. Linda also loved to dance. She met Sherman in 1972, they were married in 1974 and sealed in the LDS Temple in 2012. She had a special love for her grandchildren. Linda was also a patriot thru and thru. She is survived by her husband, Sherman; 2 children: Howard Michael Phillips and Jonna Michelle Hudson, both of Austin, Texas, 4 step-children: Fred Cody Petersen of Three Forks, Montana, Larry E. Petersen of Mayfield, Utah, Kelli Donato of Phoenix, Arizona and Brandi Foote of Wickenburg, Arizona, 14 grandchildren, a brother: Ron Dowdy of Taylor, Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Main Street Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, 641 So. Main St. in Snowflake, Arizona where a viewing will begin at Noon that same day. Burial will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Resthaven Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale, Arizona. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-Heritage Chapel in Snowflake, Arizona.
