Guy William Adair, 82 passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at his home in Holbrook, Arizona. He will be laid to rest at the Holbrook Cemetery with a graveside service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10, 2015. He was born October 27, 1932, in Pinetop, Arizona to Clements and Violet Adair. Guy spent most of his life in Holbrook, where he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Austin, in 1953. During their 62 years of marriage, Guy and Beverly raised six children and were foster parents to 22 children. He loved bowling, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid member of the coffee shop Liars' Club, which included his closest friends who met daily at local restaurants. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. Guy was instrumental in establishing the Native American dances held during the summer months. Along with serving his community, he served his country during the Korean War. He started his own business, Adair & Sons Refrigeration, in 1973. He and Beverly owned and operated Top 20 Music and The Shoe Box in Holbrook from 1985 to 2014. They also opened The Shoe Box Too in Winslow from 1993 to 2005. Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly; his children: Debby (Earl) Kester, Vera Lusk, Lois (Gerald) Hancock, David Adair, Joel (Angie) Adair and Melinda Adair; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters: Wanda, Margie and Shirley; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Edgar, Kenneth and John; four sisters: Goldie, Virginia, Mavis and Millie; and his son-in-law, Don Lusk.
