Harry Robert Nelson "Bob", age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 of natural causes. Bob was born in rural Nebraska and attended a one room schoolhouse. He was the first of his family to graduate from college. He attended the University of Nebraska where he graduated with a B.S. and Master's Degree in petroleum geology. He worked at a gas station, farm and a mortuary to pay for his college education. His college education was interrupted when he volunteered for the U.S. Army where he met his wife, Ruth. For his Master's Degree he used the GI Bill and was awarded a Fellowship by Chevron. After graduation he accepted a position with them. He and his wife were assigned to New Orleans where both children, Susan and Scott were born. Then began their world journey, with assignments in Nigeria, London, Perth, Australia and Indonesia. On their retirement they returned to the U.S. and bought Ranchero Mobile Home Park in Show Low, Arizona. In the past, Robert was an avid golfer. He was also a member of the Arizona Rangers. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and children, Susan (Oscar) Nelson-Hudson and Scott (Diane) Nelson; grandchildren Carissa Hudson, Dylan Hudson, Ross Nelson, Mark Nelson and Alec Nelson and great grandson Andre. Robert professed to be a Believer, and the family is confident he is with The Father. May God bless Bob and his family. The family is holding a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Bob's name. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
