Severo B. Barela passed away on June 5, 2015, surrounded by his children and grandchildren at the age of 85. He was born November 6, 1929. Severo was a long time painter in Northern Arizona and his work can still be seen in the area. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Catholic Church and served as an Usher for over 50 years. Severo chaired the AA Monday night meeting for many years and was a mentor for many who needed his help. He recently received his 30 year sobriety chip; something of which he was very proud. Severo enjoyed hunting but fishing was his passion for the last few years, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was a real competitor and loved catching the most fish; something he did most of the time. He was blessed to live a beautiful life until the very end which we will always Thank the Lord for. He is survived by four daughers: Antonia, Bernadette, Karen and Ester (Kirk); six sons: Frank (Patsy), Junie, Patrick, Raymond (Kim), Michael (Nancy) and Jerry (Jo); 36 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Maestas; brother, Sammy Barella (Frances); many nieces and nephews and our extended Sedillo family. We love you Daddy, we will miss youyour children. Private services are planned.
