Roger Donald Cook died Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona of natural causes. He was 89 years old. Roger was born on Thursday, February 18, 1926 in Whitehall, Washington County, New York to his parents, the late Floyd and Bernice (Proctor) Cook. Following his high school graduation, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy during the height of WWII in the summer of 1943, serving as a Seabee. Following the U.S.'s victory of WWII, he received his honorable discharge in March of 1946. After his discharge from the Navy, Roger went on to higher education, where he received his Bachelor's Degree. As a young man, Roger married Ann Marie Pratti. She later died in the early 1970s following a lengthy illness. Roger spent his entire working career as an auto mechanics instructor in New York and Texas. In 1999, he made is final move to the White Mountains and made Show Low his home. Throughout his life, Roger enjoyed flying, as he was a skilled licensed private pilot. Roger is survived by 3 sons: Bob Cook of Sacramento, California, Chris (Maryln) Cook of Colorado, Steve Cook of Prospect Park, Pennsylvania; a step-daughter, Linda Jessup of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; 2 grandchildren: Anthony Cook and Cindy Cook. A graveside service for Roger will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May, 14,2015 at the Show Low Cemetery where Chaplain Kevin Weaver will officiate and military honors will be rendered by the Veterans of The White Mountains. Arrangements are being cared for by Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel.
