Dr. Lorenzo Dow Rhoton III, age 91, of Lakeside, Arizona passed away on April 10, 2015. A lifelong educator, he was a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent for Madison Elementary District (22 years), Superintendent of Schools for Blue Ridge (13 years), and worked at NAU supervising student teachers (25 years). He loved helping people reach their potential. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as bishop and in the stake presidency in the Lakeside area, and Ward Mission Leader, but he especially loved his many opportunities to teach, and to serve in the Mesa and Snowflake Temples. Dow is preceded in death by his wife, Janie, son-in-law, Michael Woolfenden and sisters and brothers-in-law Orva (Vic) Hancock, Genieve (Brig) Young, Kathleen (Chuck) Stewart, Dick Sabin and Larry McCleve. He is survived by 3 of 6 siblings--Louise Sabin, Ted (Dolli) Rhoton, and Joyce McCleve, his daughter, Susi, 7 grandchildren and their spouses, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Lakeside Stake Center, 1520 Church Lane in Lakeside, Arizona. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
