Laura Elizabeth Hargrow

On October 3, 1923, Laura Elizabeth Norris was born to William Norris and Ola Reece Norris. She grew up and attended school in Morton, Mississippi where she fellow-shipped at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Laura met Welton Hargrow and the two were united in holy matrimony on April 20, 1942. From their love a daughter, Barbara Hargrow-Hardy was born. In 1948 Laura and her family moved to McNary, Arizona. She spent her working years as the head cook for Navapache Hospital until she retired. After retirement, Laura dedicated her final years attending to her family by sewing, cooking, and fishing with her lifetime friends Mary and H.W. Fisher. She is preceded in paradise by her beloved husband Welton Hargrow; sisters Mae McAllister, Maggie Williams, Juanita Robinson, Wydell Mack; brothers W.J. Norris, Reece Norris, and Leroy Norris. Memories of her fruitful life and memory will be cherished by her daughter Barbara (Robert) Hardy of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Anthony Hardy of Las Vegas, NV and Michele (Tim) Hardy-Sadow of Chandler, AZ; great grandson Jaden Hardy of Las Vegas, NV; sister Katie Smith of Gary, IN; brothers Elgin Norris of North Las Vegas, NV; Will A. Norris of Phoenix, AZ; and Rehofus Norris of McNary, AZ. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 with a viewing at 10:00 am and services at 11:00 am at the Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 4325 Yuma Lane, Lakeside, Arizona. Interment will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeside, Arizona.
