Roger Allen Brannon, of Taylor, Navajo County, Arizona peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was 78. Roger was born on March 22, 1936 in Mineral City, Tuscarawas County, Ohio to the late, Roma and Ocie (Ickes) Brannon. Roger grew up on the family farm in Mineral City where as a child he enjoyed riding horses, "cowboying", and hunting and fishing. It was there in Mineral City he met the love of his life, Loretta Marie Sears and on April 26, 1958 they were married. They enjoyed 48 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2006. Following their marriage they made their home in Eastern Ohio and moved a few times while he worked, first with the mines and then with United States Steel in Canton, Ohio before his retirement. In 1984 the family moved to Show Low, Arizona where he began working for Silver Creek Golf Course as a greens man, who despised nothing more than rocks in his sand. He is survived by his children, Rodney (Donna) of White Mountain Lake, Arizona, Rich (Shelly) of White Mountain Lake, Mike (Shanna) Clay Springs, Arizona, Roma (Trina) of Linden, Arizona; son-in-law, John Scott of Carrollton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 4 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Jean Scott and 3 siblings. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Darlene, Beth, Laura and Stacy of Hospice Compassus for their tender care and support given to their father. A tremendous amount of love, appreciation and gratitude is given to Roger's grandson, Joe Scott, for being with his grandfather and the care that he provided in his final years of his life. Roger and Loretta will be laid to rest together in the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona in a private family service. An open house will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Roger's home, 233 Pinedale Road, Taylor, Arizona.
