Robert Christian Delzer, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home in Show Low, Arizona. He was born June 28, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Arthur Neal Delzer and Josephine Margaret Odegaard Delzer. Robert was a man who loved his time in the air as a pilot. He served as a fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed playing the violin. Robert went to school to become a deacon. He worked as a councilman and Vice Mayor of Show Low, Arizona. He worked for more than 30 years as an engineer. Robert also did volunteer work for the Show Low Senior Patrol and for the Chemo Lab at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center. He is survived by: Helen and Oscar Odegaard, Alvin and Frances Odegaard and numerous other relatives on the Odegaard side, and Laura Metzger. 8 children: Michael (Debra) Nelson, David Nelson, Mark Nelson, Catherine (Bill) Jeffries, Mary Nelson, Sharon Carr, Sean (Jeanne) Nelson and Steven Delzer. 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens Ave. in Show Low, Arizona. The concluding committal service will follow at the Show Low Cemetery. The family requests rather than sending flowers that a donation be made to St. Rita's Catholic Church in Robert's name. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
