Jeanette (Johnson) Massey, 75, was born on December 14, 1939 in Canyon Day, Arizona. She went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Lakeside, Arizona. Jeanette retired from the White Mountain Apache Police Department where she worked for 10+ years as the Head Cook. Her hobbies included watching Sunday football, her favorite team being the Oakland Raiders. She also watched WWF where her favorite wrestlers were Hulk Hogan & Macho Man. She enjoyed sewing & crocheting, making numerous beautiful blankets for her loved ones. She loved being with her sisters, "joy-riding" with them and visiting them. They drank coffee while staring at each other and not saying a word. She would wait patiently outside her house for her daughter & granddaughters to take her shopping. She loved being with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren and treating them like they were still babies. Jeanette had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Everyone loved her laugh, which surely everyone will miss the most about her. Jeanette will truly be missed. She is survived by her 3 children: sons, Everett (Nettie) Massey & Homer (Ynocencia) Massey Jr.; daughter Rebecca (Timo) Quintero; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Breezy Johnson Sr., Sylvester Johnson, & Ashley Griggs Sr., & many relatives. She is preceded in death by father Edward Johnson, mother Effie (Declay) Johnson, sisters: Corneila Dale & Genevieve Seymour and grandson Craig Massey. A one night wake was held on Thursday February 5, 2015 at her residence, 121 Beargrass Drive, Canyon Day. Arizona. Funeral will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 am, at the Canyon Day Miracle Church, Canyon Day, Arizona. Officiating Bishop Leroy Tate. Interment will follow at the Canyon Day Cemetery.
