Erma M. Kershner passed away February 3, 2015 in Lakeside, AZ after a very long and fulfilled life. Erma was born March 7, 1923 in Canon City, CO. Her family moved to Prescott, AZ when she was an infant so Erma always considered herself a native Arizonian. She graduated from Prescott High School in 1939. Erma learned to fly and had her pilot's license when she was 16 and in 1942 was working as the clearance officer at the Prescott airport when she met her Navy flyboy Leonard Kershner. They were married for 58 years. Erma loved all things Arizona especially the wonderful art of the Navajo and Hopi tribes. Erma devoted her life to being a wife, homemaker and mother. Erma and Leonard lived primarily in Phoenix, Az. until they moved to the White Mountains in 1984 to retire to their property in Lakeside. She is preceded in death by her son Floyd Kershner, her husband Leonard Kershner and her granddaughter Cindy L. Adams. She is survived by her daughter Donna M. Deifenbaugh of Lakeside, Az. daughter Lynn R. Layton of Las Vegas, NV and eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
