Allen Eugene Knowles

Allen Eugene Knowles, of Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on December 3, 2014 at his home in Lakeside. He was 70. Allen was born to his parents the late, Willard Eugene and Elizabeth (Nelson) Knowles on Valentine's Day February 14, 1944 in Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Allen grew up on a farm in Florida and at a young age began working on a fishing boat with his uncle. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before being Honorably Discharged. A long-time member of the Douglasville Georgia Masonic Lodge#289 in Douglasville, Allen was proud of his many fraternal accomplishments. He was a proud member of the Navajo County Sherriff's Auxiliary Volunteer group for many years and met many wonderful friends while serving. Allen was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Harper, on April 5, 1974 in Show Low, Arizona and they celebrated 40 wonderful years together before his passing. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend Allen will be missed by all. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Knowles of Lakeside, Arizona; children, Valerie Knowles, Allen Knowles Jr., Cheryl Keller, Donald Harper, Robert Delgrosso, Ronald Rhoton Jr., Mark Rhoton, Brenda Longyear and Rick Rhoton; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Pat Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jason Harper and a sister, Annette Smith. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Douglasville Masonic Lodge#289, 8519 Bowden St., Douglasville, Georgia 30134 in Allen's name.
