Edwin Lewis Hunt, 79, of Snowflake, Arizona passed away on November 13, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Edd was born on May 2, 1935 in Snowflake, Arizona. Edd was a natural leader who was fun loving and always had a story to tell. He was an accomplished athlete from High School thru all his college years, lettering in Basketball, Baseball, and Football at Snowflake Union High School and Eastern Arizona Jr College , as well as Football at Brigham Young University, having received a full ride scholarship. He also played AAA Baseball in Provo, Utah where he acquired the nickname Ozark Ike which he is still known by to this day. His life was a busy one being a farmer, rancher, pig farmer, and business owner. He designed and built the original 9 hole golf course in Snowflake. He owned and operated Edd Hunt's Steakhouse at the Snowflake Inn for 20 years before moving on to St. Croix Virgin Islands where he renovated The Reef golf course. He loved being in the woods, hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends where he was always the camp cook. This began the love of cooking at home with his own special touch that was only Edd's. He was married to the love of his life, Beverly Jean Hunt, for 57 years and the Patriarch of a large close knit family consisting of 6 children, 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Joni Hunt Davis, and his son Edwin Lewis Hunt Jr. He is survived by his wife Beverly, son Johnny Mark Hunt (Janet), daughter Jackie Yarn (Ben), daughter-in-law Allyson Hunt, son Kelly Hunt (Andie), daughter Jodie Martin. The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Snowflake Stake Center, 175 W. 9th South in Snowflake, Arizona where the visitation will begin 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
