Billy Hale Robinson, of Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home in Show Low. He was 82. Billy was born to, Jimmie Estelle Blaylock and Webster Hales on April 20, 1932 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. At a very young age Billy's father, Webster, passed away and following his passing his mother, Estelle re-married Frank Robinson and Billy then took the Robinson name. Together they raised Billy in Texas until 1936 when the family moved to Show Low. He attended elementary school in Show Low and then high school in Snowflake. At the age of 18 Billy met the love of his life, Colleen Whipple, and on May 13, 1951 they were married in Show Low. Together they had 7 beautiful children. At the age of 19 Billy became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and on April 18, 1958 Billy and Colleen were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. At the time of her passing they enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage. An active member in the church Billy served in various callings and was a longtime Priesthood holder. He was employed for the Southwest Forest Industries in McNary, Arizona for many years before taking a job in the Road Maintenance Department in Pinetop, Arizona for Navajo County before his retirement in 1994. An avid outdoorsman, Billy loved to fish and hunt and did so all over the state of Arizona. He enjoyed the sense of peace he felt whenever he was on a great lake or stream, with his line in the water, whether the fish were biting or not. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Billy will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his children, Colen Chris Robinson of Oracle, Arizona, Nella Marie and Warner Walton of Snowflake, Arizona, Jo Ellen and Wayne Cooper of Mesa, Arizona, Melissa and Mike Knutson of Pampa, Texas, David and Dana Robinson of Show Low, Arizona and John and Swanie Robinson of Clay Springs, Arizona; 17 grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Glen "Booty" and Fran Robinson of Safford, Arizona as well as a sister, Frankie Leonardo of California. He was preceded in death by his wife Colleen Robinson in 2006; infant daughter, Nancy Robinson; son-in-law, John Jones and a sister, Betty Mills. The family would like to send a big "Thank You" to the staff at Hospice Compassus, especially Beth and Michelle, for the wonderful care given to their father in his final days. The public visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Owens Livingston Mortuary ~ White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1401 West Deuce of Clubs in Show Low where additional visitation will begin 1 hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Show Low Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Billy's name to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mission Fund C/O: Sierra Pines Ward, P.O. Box 1414 , Show Low, Arizona 85902 have been suggested by his family.
