Carmen Arlene Rosendall

May 17, 1923 — November 6, 2014

Carmen Arlene Rosendall, age 91, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Angel Wings Assisted Living in Vernon, Arizona. She was born May 17, 1923 in Austin, Minnesota to John Richard Miller and Nina Sahr Miller. Carmen was a survivor of a "polio-like" illness, who went on to live a full and productive life. She joined the United States Marine Corps in 1943 going thru Basic Training prior to being discharged for medical reasons. On the train home she met, and later married her husband, Clarence Rosendall who also preceded her in death. She was part of a large family and grew up in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Carmen loved to tell stories, loved to volunteer and shop in thrift stores, loved coffee and cookies; she was known as "Cookie Carmen." She would loved to have been a nurse, but couldn't afford training. Her daughter lived that dream for her. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and all of her family members. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 No. 9th St. in Show Low, Arizona. There will be a viewing held on Friday night, November 14, 2014 from 5-7 pm at the mortuary and again on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona next to her husband. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund or to Hospice Compassus. A special Thank You goes out to all of the compassionate pros from Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center, Sierra Blanca Care Center, Solterra of the White Mountains and Angel Wings Assisted Living Center.
