Mary Antionette Montano

Mary Antionette (Rains) Montano, a former resident of Gallup, New Mexico, died on October 29, 2014 in Lakeside, Arizona. She was 67 years old. Born on September 4, 1947, she graduated from Gallup High School in 1965. In May of 1967, she married Ernest Montano, also of Gallup, New Mexico. Mary worked for many years in Gallup as a receptionist and bookkeeper at many places including Fort Wingate Army Depot, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Evan's Drug Store and Norwest Financial. In 2000, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she worked as a receptionist for the Alaska Children's Services. In 2004. she moved to Lakeside, Arizona. Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years. She is also survived by: her brothers, John Rains, Ralph Rains and Charles Mataya, each of Gallup; and a sister, Susan Bridges of Rio Rancho; three children, Ralph Montano of Sacramento, California, Angela Savage of Pa'auilo, Hawaii, Wayne Montano of Hedgesville, West Virginia; and four grandchildren, Hillary, Jacey, Braden and Pippa. Memorial services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 415 East Green Avenue in Gallup, New Mexico on November 10, 2014. Visitation will start a 10:00 am. A rosary will be said at 10:30 am., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. There will be a potluck reception at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Community Center at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Love Our Children USA. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel in Show Low, Arizona.
