Gretchen Weburg began her journey to her eternal life with God in Heaven at home in Show Low, Arizona on October 8, 2014, with her husband of 51 years, Michael Weburg, at her side. Gretchen was the daughter of Elmer Kermit and Martha Ellen (Christman) Gosser of Gibson City, Illinois. Surviving are her husband, Michael "Mick" Weburg of Show Low, Arizona; a daughter, Michelle Weburg of Texas; a son, Wren Michael (Beverly) Weburg of California; and a brother, Michael Kermit Gosser of Central Illinois. Gretchen is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gretchen bravely battled breast cancer for seven years after she and Michael retired from St. Paul, Minnesota to Arizona in 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents; an older sister, Roena Enghausen; a younger sister, Rita Kaye (F. Jay) Foster, who also fell to breast cancer. Gretchen worked as a bank teller and manager in Oquawka, Illinois as well as in Pinetop and McNary, Arizona. In 1973, she began devoting her full time to her children and family. Being a mother was Gretchen's main objective in life. Another love was fishing, which usually did involve "catching" for Gretchen. These were always family outings, as Gretchen entrusted a child to another only once, when her son was born. Gretchen's and Michael's faith in God has carried them through. If Gretchen could leave some last words, they may well be these: "October is breast cancer awareness month. Be aware. Be very aware!
