Linda Diane Arvizu

June 6, 1957 — October 10, 2014

Linda Diane Arvizu died unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2014 at her home in Shumway, Navajo County, Arizona. She was 57 years old. A summer baby, Linda was born on June 6, 1957 at Fort Riley, Geary County, Kansas to her parents, Arnel Wise and Peggy June (Cochran) Wise. After graduating from high school, Linda attended Crawford's Cosmetology School in Holbrook and became a licensed beautician. Linda met the love of her life, Michael Arvizu-Encinas in 1997. After a 7 year courtship, the couple was married on June 4, 2004 at the Snowflake Courthouse in Snowflake, Arizona. For the past 17 years, Linda made her home in Shumway and loved her life at "The Ranch." The beauty that surrounded her there made for a simple yet, very happy life. She was able to spend countless hours working on her arts and crafts. She had an incredible knack for cross-stitching and was equally gifted as a painter. She loved making Christmas gifts for her family and friends. Those special gifts that she made are now considered to be priceless treasures to her family, as many of them now are hanging on the walls of their homes. When it came to her painting, she was known for the beautiful way she could turn a simple piece of glass, as well as old saw blades, into masterpieces. Linda loved to have her family gather at The Ranch for good old fashioned barbecues, where many happy memories were made. Her family will continue to honor her memory as they carry forth with those family barbecue traditions. Linda is survived by her husband, Michael Arvizu-Encinas of Shumway, Arizona; 4 children: Melissa (Michael) Givens of Ironwood, Michigan, Jamie Givens of Snowflake, Arizona, Johnny Givens of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janette (Scott) Frye of Taylor, Arizona; 8 grandchildren: Zackari (Randi McGee) Weltmer, Kowan Benton, Laiken Lovato, Silas Lovato, Dameon Densmore, Kayla Densmore, Brandon Frye, Joslynn Frye; 1 great-granddaughter, Cassidy Rose Weltmer; sister, Rose Marie (Steve) Kerlin of Columbus, Georgia; brother, Arnold (Christine) Wise of Columbus, Georgia and by her mother, Peggy Mudge of Columbus, Georgia. Private family services will be held.
