Patricia Lee Freeland

d. August 24, 2014

On August 24, 2014, our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, Patricia Lee Freeland, passed into Heaven. Patsy, as she was known to her family, leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 58 years, Stanley S. Freeland, Holbrook, AZ; daughters: Vicky Turley, Holbrook, AZ; Ann Marie (Glen) Daughtery Elyria, OH; grandchildren: Danyel (Chris) Ferniza, Holbrook, AZ; Randy Turley, Mesa, AZ; Jessica Olmstead, Innsbruck, Austria; Andraya Olmstead & Evan Olmstead of Elyria, OH; 5 (soon to be 6) great-grandchildren. Sisters: Cathy (Gene) Travis, Shepherdsville, KY; Lisa (James) Parsons, Show Low, AZ; Judy (Duane) Lindquist, Flagstaff, AZ; Linda (Leonard) Morgan, Louisville, KY; sisters in law: Mamie Davis & Pat Freeland, Holbrook, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded to Heaven by her beloved grandson Damien Montoya; brothers Monty R. Gonzales & Allen E. Kendall; sister, Anita J. Handy and parents Betty L. Walsh & Elmer L. Kendall. Patsy met and married Stanley while he was serving in the U.S. Army. After living a short while in Ft. Hood, TX they moved to Holbrook and began their family. Patsy was a content housewife and mother and when she wasn't cooking something yummy, she was sewing or crafting. Their home was always full with family or puppies, kitties, lizards, or birds, and a horse or 2 at the fairgrounds. As the girls grew Patsy went to work, cooking at The Chicken Coop in downtown Holbrook and the Plainsman on the west end. For many years she was the seamstress for her mother, Betty, at Tom Burns Dry Cleaners. Later she worked at Yellow Front and Sprouse Reitz. She also opened her own arts and crafts business. By this time Patsy was a grandmother and loved every minute of it. Patsy was currently working with the AZ Baptist Children's Service Center in Holbrook. There will be no public services. A private family gathering will be held at a later time. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Patsy's family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus and dear friends. Our Patsy, you are forever in our hearts and memories.
