Cynthia G. Ackzen

July 16, 1963 — August 10, 2014

Cynthia G. Ackzen, of Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona passed away following a brief illness on August 10, 2014 at her home in Lakeside. She was 51. Cindy was born to her parents, Joseph and Joan (Dobbins) Goins on July 16, 1963 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. She attended Pima College where she was studying nursing before a car accident prevented her from graduating. She then attended Apollo College where she studied medical billing and office management. Following her time at Apollo College Cindy went to work for Tucson General and later Kino Hospital in Tucson running medical clinics. She then became a Medical Assistant for White Mountain Pediatrics where she took care of many, many children whom she loved dearly. She was most recently employed with Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low. On May 26, 1999 she married the love of her life, Bruce Ackzen, in Lakeside, Arizona and they have since resided there until her passing. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend she will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Ackzen of Lakeside, Arizona; children, Brianna Beaubien of Tucson, Arizona and Chad Ackzen of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Braedon Ackzen, Jacob Narranjo and Garrett Narranjo; mother, Joan Goins of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Cathy Borders of Tucson, Arizona; brothers, Bobby Dobbins of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Jay Goins of Colombus, Ohio; her dearest friend, Meg Frye of Show Low, Arizona as well as many friends throughout the White Mountains. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Goins; step-daughter, November (Ackzen) Narranjo and grandparents, Walter and Alma Dobbins. In lieu of flowers Cindy's family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of The White Mountains, PO Box 909, Lakeside, Arizona 85929 in her name to benefit the community and animals she loved. A celebration of Cindy's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the family home in Lakeside from 11:00AM-3:00PM. For more information and directions please call 928-521-2955.
