Dennis Hugh King, 80, passed to our heavenly father on July 27, 2014, at home in Pinetop with his sister, Carolyn, and by his brother-in-law, Phil by his side. His last illness was greatly eased by the wonderful care of Hospice Compassus. Dennis was born September 27, 1933, to Hughey and Nola King in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is survived by two sisters: Carolyn Rioux (Philip), Eileen Osborn (Tom), a brother: Noel King (Liz), two nephews: Ryan King and Sean King, an aunt: Kathleen Jones (Aunty Kay) and his precious dog and constant companion, Missy. He was preceded in death by his father, Hughey King, his mother, Nola King and his very special grandmother, Jeune McGrady. Dennis lived at the family home in Peoria for many years where he enjoyed a farm life of milking cows and raising animals. He graduated from Peoria High School where he excelled in music. He joined the United States Army, spending two years in Germany where he was a trumpeter and played in the band. On his return, he entered the sheet metal apprenticeship program and became a journeyman in his chosen profession. He received his gold card from Sheet Metal Workers' International Association for 50 years of good standing and service in Local Union No. 359 in November 2007. He and Missy moved to Pinetop in 2007, to reside with his sister, Carolyn, and his brother-in-law, Phil. Dennis was a kind and generous man who could never pass a car stalled by the side of the road without stopping to help. He loved his family. He was greatly loved in return. Owens Livingston Mortuary in Show Low handled all Dennis's needs after death. He is buried in Resthaven Park in Glendale, AZ, beside his father, mother, and grandmother.
