Cecilia Rae Roberts

Cecilia Rae Baca Roberts was born at home in Concho, AZ on June 7, 1937. She died peacefully in her home in Concho AZ on July 18, 2014 surrounded by some of her children, brothers & sisters & grandchildren. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel P Baca & Ida Candelaria, her brothers, Gene & Gabriel Baca, her sister Carmen Baca, her daughter Pamela Sue Roberts, her grandsons, Russell A Roberts & Eric R Michael & her great granddaughter Samara. She is survived by 6 of her children: Ida Roberts of Concho, Christine Roberts of La Luz, NM, Russell Roberts of Alamogordo, NM, Elizabeth Neal(Garry) of Lakeside, AZ, Kathryn Blaase'(Randy) of Lakeside, AZ, & Walter Roberts(Tracie) of Atlanta GA, 6 sisters, Regina Shaver(Alan) of Lawrence KS, Clara Bonfili(Frank) of Phoenix AZ, Molly Baca(Mike Davis) of Prineville OR, Gabriella Romero(Jake) of St Johns AZ, Hope MacMonagle(Michael, dec.) of Ogden UT & Jana Young(Jerry) of Holbrook AZ, 2 brothers, Max Baca of Concho, AZ, Mark Baca(Olga) of Williams, AZ, 28 grandchildren & 32 great grandchildren. Cecilia was very active in her community. She retired from Apache County after 18 years in 1999. She has been on the Board of the Concho Elementary School District for the past 16 years. She served on the Concho CAN governing Board, was Treasurer of the Concho Water Irrigation System & was the first woman to serve on the San Rafael Church Council. She was elected Precinct Committee member for the Apache County Democratic Party. She served 4 terms & is past president and treasurer of the Democratic Party. She also served 4 years on Apache County Guidance Clinic, now known as the Little Colorado Behavioral Health Clinic. She served on the personnel committee that drew up the original personnel guidelines. Her pride in & love for her church, community, county & state is evident & will be sorely missed. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 7:00PM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the San Raphael Catholic Church, 35411 US 180A, Concho, Arizona. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 3:00PM Friday July 25, 2014 at the church with the interment to follow in the Concho Cemetery.
