Addine M. Carpenter, 89, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, at her daughter's home in Cedaredge, Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Holbrook United Methodist Church, 118 W. Arizona. in Holbrook, Arizona. A graveside service will follow at the Holbrook Cemetery. Eula Addine McSpadden was born February 16, 1925 in Erick, Oklahoma to Ross F. and Lida (Hensley) McSpadden. She moved to Holbrook with her family in 1930. She graduated form Holbrook High School in 1943, and worked as a bookkeeper for Henning Insurance until her marriage on November 1, 1945 to Walter S. (Tuffy) Carpenter. Addi also worked as a secretary for the Holbrook School District for many years, retiring in 1983. She served as Worthy Matron for the Liberty Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also the organist for the Holbrook United Methodist Church, president of the church board and choir leader. Addine and Tuffy donated a great deal of their time and energy volunteering for their church and community. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity and unfailing devotion to her family. Survivors include her sons, Ross (Shari) Carpenter of Payson, Arizona, Charles (Irma) Carpenter of Holbrook, Arizona, daughter Starla (George) Bacon of Cedaredge, Colorado; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
