Thomas Hugh Mulloy, Jr. died Saturday morning, July 5, 2014 at his home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 55 years old. Tom, as he was known, was born on October 24, 1958 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio to his parents, the late Thomas Hugh, Sr. and Marlene (McGraw) Mulloy. Tom moved to Arizona 35 years ago and immediately began working as a mover for United Van Lines. During the 13 years that he was employed there, Tom literally moved 1000's of people into their new homes. He was well-liked by his co-workers and trusted by all. In recent years, Tom helped his wife, Dawna, at her restaurant, "Elements Bistro" and made most of the deliveries for her. He knew everybody and will forever be remembered for ALWAYS having a Pepsi in his hand. He loved the stuff and was regularly kidded for being a "Pepsi-holic." Tom loved his dogs and, daily, took them on long walks through and around his neighborhood. During these walks, he made sure he brought along a small backpack full of doggy treats so he could feed all the neighborhood dogs he met along the way. Even the Pit Bulls patiently awaited his daily strolls. His family will remember him as a loving and caring man who was worthy of everyone's respect. His wife would be the first to tell you of the kind and generous spirit he possessed. He had a special nickname for his daughter, "Peanut". She hated it but now misses hearing him call for her. To his son, he was his role model. They were really "two-of-a-kind." Tom was the kind of grandpa every one needed. He loved to sit on the bed with his grandson, sneaking him candy and ice cream while the two of them watched cartoons; especially "Tom & Jerry" and "SpongeBob Squarepants." Tom was a man of faith and had a deep sense of compassion for others in need. He truly believed that when he was "in the service of his fellow man, he was only in the service of his God." Tom attended mass everyday at St. Rita's Catholic Church where he lit candles for anybody and everybody who was in need of those special blessings. For the past several years, Tom and Dawna provided Thanksgiving dinners for dozens of families through the Headstart Program. Families whom otherwise would go without on that special day. Also, during the Christmas season, Tom could be seen taking several Christmas Angels from the various Christmas trees found at church and the local retail stores. Through this simple act of kindness, he made sure children throughout the community woke up to a special gift on Christmas morning. And, the closer Christmas came, he had a hard time walking past any of those Christmas Angel trees that still had requests hanging from their branches. He literally gave all that he could to ensure that as many kids as possible had a joyful Christmas. Daily he lived the Lord's admonition to "Love One Another" and gave of himself, serving humanity, in his own special way. Tom had great taste when it came to his transportation. He owned a Harley that was in immaculate condition. He loved taking his "Hog" out for leisure trips throughout the area. He also had an '84 GMC Jimmy that was in mint, showroom condition. Most recently, he could have been seen driving around town in his light blue '67 Chevy and dang-it, if he didn't look good! Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dawna Lee Mulloy of Show Low, Arizona; his daughter, Adrian (Jeff) Yates of Show Low, Arizona; his son, Thomas Hugh Mulloy, III of Show Low, Arizona; his grandson, Jason Lee Yates of Show Low, Arizona; 2 sisters: Jennifer Mulloy of Ohio, Karen Mulloy of Ohio as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Connie Mulloy and Linda Mulloy.
