John William Behn

John W. Behn of Lakeside Arizona passed away in Show Low, Arizona with loved ones by his side after an 8 year battle with lung cancer. John was born November 17, 1941 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York to Jack and Florence Behn. He grew up on Long Island, New York in the Yaphank and Jefferson area. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 on December 4, 1958 and was stationed at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, Texas where he proudly served for 4 years and then 2 years in the reserve. John arrived in Arizona in the late 60's where he has resided ever since. John worked for HAC Contracting for years until going into business for himself in the early 90's and then merged with Gardner Heating and Cooling. John was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Florence Behn and sister Sally Hoeffner and great grandson Wyatt Seeley. He is survived by his Special Angel and best friend Deborah. Sons: John W. Behn and family of San Antonio, Texas, Larry (Tracy) Poteet, Jr. and family of Bakersfield, California, Chad (Sheri) Behn and family of Lakeside, Arizona. Daughters: Sandra (Ken) Beall and family of San Antonio, Texas, Celia (Jeff) Cook and family of Montana, and Beverly Romannose and family of Lakeside, Arizona. 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A sister: Patricia (William) Perry and family of New York and a brother Arthur (Angelia) and family of New York. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 No, 9th St. in Show Low, Arizona.
