Mary Louise Taylor

April 24, 1926 — May 14, 2014

April 24, 1926 God blessed Oliver and Mary Alice Strong with one of two beautiful daughters. Mary Louise received her primary education in the state of Mississippi. Mary Louise excelled in education, physical education, but most of all singing. She began singing publicly at the early age of 8 and continued, representing her school in singing competitions throughout the state as God was blessing her to play the piano by ear. Mary Louise left Mississippi for Portland, Oregon and Albuquerque, New Mexico; while living in Albuquerque she accepted Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Griffin. After working for several years and working in the ministry she followed the leading of the Lord moving to McNary, Arizona; where she was united in holy matrimony with Percy Lee Taylor. Working in the McNary Hospital as a Nurses Aide, her family grew, and she continued her call of ministry under the leadership of Superintendent Steele, faithfully serving as Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Women's Ministry and a Member of the Local and Regional Choirs; throughout those years Sister Taylor remained a faithful soldier on the battlefield. Moving to Holbrook, Arizona in the early 50's where she would remain more than 30 years, with her 6 children. She worked in Holbrook's first Head Start Program, Nurse's Aide, Merchandising Clerk and Domestic Home and Health Caregiver. As a member of the Saints Home Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Raymond Flemons, continuing to support ministry teaching Sunday School, Y.P.W.W., Sunshine Band, Sewing Circle, Home and Foreign Mission. Mother Taylor being faithful to her calling as she assisted in developing ministry growth with Saints Home Church of God in Christ; New Bethel Church of God in Christ with Brother and Sister Alfoster Hawkins and Mother Ossie Davis; while supporting Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and a ministry with Mother Dunnican and Brother and Sister Tombs in Winslow, Arizona. Those gifts and callings continued when she moved to Pomona, California. Facing new challenges she never let go of God's hand. For more than 33 years Mother Taylor has been a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ under the Pastoral Leadership of Superintendent Pleas Thomas, Pastor John Merchant and currently the leadership of Bishop Terence Rhone. Mother Taylor enjoyed serving in the San Bernardino Region faithfully as Prayer Chaplin, Intercessor and a Member of the Mothers Board at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ. Taking extra joy in Volunteering with Feeding the Hungry Program. Mother Taylor took Praise to a higher level. Known as a Prayer Warrior, a Songstress and Loved The Lord, a stranger she never met. God blessed Mother Taylor to celebrate her 88th Birthday on April 24th of this year, also, enjoying her family and friends on Mother's Day. On May 14th Mother Mary Louise Taylor went home to be with the Lord. All during her illness, the request remained the same "when the saints ask how I am, tell them when they pray, just call out my name." Mother Mary Louise Taylor was preceded in death by Mary Alice Strong, Oliver Wilson Strong, Pauline Scott and her two sons Oliver and Maxie Joe. Mother Mary Louise Taylor leaves to cherish and honor her life: two sons Robert and Herbert Taylor of Pomona, California. Two daughters Perci Brewer (Almond) of Ontario, California and Viviann Taylor of Flagstaff, Arizona. Seven Grandchildren, Mchae, Jamal, Amber, Felecia, Koury, DAndre and Tre'; Great grandchildren Francine (Taylor) Mercado, Shatasis Taylor, McHae Taylor, Jr., Xavier Taylor, Dranesha Taylor and Dranesha Sander; The Mt. Sanai Church Family and a host of relatives and friends.
