Knowles Coleman "K.C." Clifton

Knowles Coleman "K.C." Clifton died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the White Mountain Regional Hospital in Springerville, Apache County, Arizona from complications of a hip fracture. He was 100 years old! K.C. was born on November 6, 1913 in Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois to his parents, the late Ralph Albert and Grace (Knowles) Clifton. He married Lenore Nadine Bayliff on September 13, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1988. K.C. received his Master's Degree from the University of Denver in Colorado. Throughout his life, he had a successful career and worked as a nuclear physicist in chemical engineering. K.C. is survived by: 1 sister; Rita Mae Marley of Albany, Oregon; his 2 daughters: Judith Ann (Konrad) Wetzl of Tomball, Texas and Janet Carol Clifton (Charlie Weaver) of Portland, Oregon, 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service for K.C. will begin 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona. The family requests that rather than sending flowers that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
