Hal Eugene Hall was born January 25, 1946 in Phoenix, AZ to Frank and Velma Hall. He grew up in Tempe, AZ where he attended Tempe HS, majoring in Football and Baseball. Hal's love for the outdoors began at a young age, since he would spend every summer at Black River; there he camped with his parents and 3 older brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Carl. Hal loved to fish, hunt and do anything outdoors. Hal met the love of his life, Gwendolyn "Wendy" Lee Drizigacker in December of 1969; they were inseparable ever since and married in 1970. In 1973 Hal & Wendy purchased property in Heber. Together they built a cabin, and after spending 1/2 their week days in Heber, Hal & Wendy decided to make Heber their permanent residence in 1978. Hal loved to be involved with his children, Tammy, Hal, and Valerie. He coached Little League, taught them to fish and hunt, and to drive at a young age. Hal was always supportive, attending their various games and activities. When the grandkids started coming, they became the light and joy of his life. Grandpa Hal was fondly known as the "Popsicle Grandpa" to the grandkids, he would always have a frozen treat to give them when they would visit. Hal was service oriented; always giving and helping others. He served as a Cannery Specialist for the LDS Church for many years-a "job" he loved. A highlight in Hal's recent years, was working in the LDS Snowflake Temple, he looked forward to attending every week and spoke often of how much he loved being there. Hal loved to travel with his wife, and was always up for any adventure as long as they were together. Hal's green thumb produced a wonderful garden which he willingly shared with family and friends. He always produced the best pumpkin patch. He loved to have his grand kids come and pick their favorite pumpkin. Hal enjoyed cooking, especially while the kids were young; he loved making tamales, and we all loved them. Hal spent his last couple of days with family in Orlando Florida, where he passed away. Hal is survived by his wife, Wendy Hall; his children, Tammy (Scott) Kubitza, Hal (Elisa) Hall, and Valerie (Haskel) Reynolds. His grandchildren, Chelsea (Kurt) Crandell, Courtney, Clancy, Seneca, Trey, Cashlyn, Slade and Saige. His mother-in-law, Rowena Schattenberg (Clint Chatters). Hal is preceded in death by his grand-daughter, Carissa Hall; his parents Frank and Velma Hall, and his brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Carl. Memorial Services will be held at the Heber, AZ Cemetery, Wednesday, May 21st at 2:30pm. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many calls, cards, prayers, thoughts and service given in their behalf.
