Lee Francis Chartrand, Jr.

Lee Francis Chartrand, Jr., age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Sunny Hill Care Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born on June 7, 1925 in Wenatchee, Washington to Lee Francis Chartrand and Truth Lindley Chartrand. Lee moved to McNary, Arizona when he was 14 years old; he lived and worked in Maverick, Arizona for many years. He served in the US Navy Air Force during WWII. He was married to his love, Barbara, for 64 years come May 12th. Lee was a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He worked as a logging contractor for over 40 years and was one of the best on the mountain. Lee Owned and operated the Southwestern Stone Company in Taylor, Arizona for 30 years. He loved Shumway, being self-sufficient and organic gardening. He is survived by his wife: Barbara; 4 children: Bob and Pam of Georgia, Lloyd of Clifton, Arizona, Debbie Goodman and Sam of Colorado, and Denise of Show Low, Arizona. 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a sister: Cherie of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his son Donald. There will be a public memorial service on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Calvary Chapel, 311 So. 1st E. in Snowflake, Arizona. At Barbara's request, rather than sending flowers please make a donation to the Humane Society of the White Mountains in Lakeside, Arizona. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-Heritage Chapel in Snowflake, Arizona.
