A fatal car accident on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Snowflake, Arizona took from us, much too soon, Eli Hoffman. He was 16 years old. Eli was born on July 4, 1997 in Escondido, San Diego County, California to his mother, Gail Hoffman. In October of 2000, Eli moved to Holbrook, Arizona with his family and later, in 2002, moved to Taylor, where he has since lived. As a little boy, his family always looked forward to watching him play Tee-Ball and Basketball. They truly were his biggest fans! Eli also looked forward to going on weekend camping trips with his Mom and big sister, Chelsey. As he grew older, Eli matured into a wonderful young man. He made, and kept, friends easily; as he was so loyal to every single one of them. Eli thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his friends. His home was a favorite "hangout" for many of them. While there, they also had a good time "hanging out" with his family! Eli also loved to go long-boarding and, often, he and his friends could be seen on their longboards making their way into town. Eli was a thoughtful young man and appreciated the beautiful things of this world. He was blessed with an artistic talent for drawing and he willingly shared it with others. Also, Eli loved just about every type of music imaginable. However, country music was a genre' that he never really liked. Eli loved, and was loved by, his many great friends. He was truly a loving son, wonderful brother and awesome uncle. He will be sorely missed. Eli touched the lives of every member of his family and was a positive influence to each member of it, including: his mother, Gail Hoffman of Taylor, Arizona; his sister, Chelsey (Tomas) Anchondo of Taylor, Arizona; 2 brothers: Colby Hoffman of Taylor, Arizona, Jesse (Jennifer) Hoffman of California; his father, Jerry Hoffman of California; his beautiful nieces and nephews: Ashley Hoffman, Lucas Hoffman, Matthew Hoffman, Alexis Anchondo, Leah Anchondo and Luis Anchondo. A public visitation for Eli will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 11, 2014 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. The closed casket funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Our Lady of The Snow Community Event Center 1655 S. Main Street in Snowflake, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona. Eli's family would like to publicly thank those many people whom have given, so graciously, of their time and selves to the planning of his funeral service: Fr. Bill Welch for providing the beautiful facilities for the funeral service; Deacon Heal for officiating at the service; the Relief Societies of the Taylor Wards of the LDS Church for providing the luncheon that will be shared following the services; and the labor of love that went into the building of his casket from friends in Heber. The family is especially thankful for Eli's friends who organized the special fundraising car washes throughout the region and to everyone who has offered their support through donations. You are all angels and are appreciated so very much.
