Longtime resident and Physician of Show Low, Dr. P.R. Garver, passed away in the early morning hours on December 18, 2013 at his home in Show Low. Born in Ashton, Idaho in 1930, he received a degree in pharmacy on a boxing scholarship at Idaho State College winning the NCAA Boxing Title in 1953. After college he joined the Navy and became a jet fighter pilot. After his military service he entered medical school at the University of Utah where he graduated in 1962. He completed residencies in Cincinatti, Ohio and Denver , Colorado before moving to Show Low to open his Family Practice on August 1, 1966. Dr. Garver is survived by his children, Irene Mason of Show Low, AZ, John Glenn (Patricia) Garver of Salt Lake City, UT, Gina Marie Garver-Crowe of Show Low, AZ, Kelly (Tim) Bagnell of Polson, MT, Toni Garver of Show Low, AZ, Greta (Mike) Hannemann of Flagstaff, AZ and Michael Ryan Garver of Phoenix, AZ; 15 grandchildren, Kayla Marie Craig, Paddy Ryan (Charisse) Craig, Kyle (Katie) Craig, Jack Ryan Garver, Zoe Marie Garver, Alexandra Lee Garver, Anastacia Marie Crowe, Ian Conner Crowe, Craig Allen Bagnell, Kyle Patrick Bagnell, Alexa Marie Bagnell, Jessica Marie Bagnell, Riley Marie Hannemann, Drew Lauren Hannemann, Rhyen Sophia Hannemann; sisters, Beverley Siddoway of Bozeman, MT, Joan Thorton of Atlanta, GA, Madeline Garver of Denver, CO and Connie Van Hook of Ogden, UT. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Garver in 1978. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens, Show Low, Arizona. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:30 P.M. at the Church Friday evening. Concluding Services and Interment will be held in the Show Low Cemetery.
