Hoskie Andrew Davis, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Sierra Blanca Rehabilitation Center in Show Low, Arizona. He was born on April 10, 1930 in Kinlichee, Arizona to Desbah Tsinijinnie Davis and Willis Davis. He was an operating engineer and member of Local 428 for 43 years; he operated heavy equipment for many years. Hoskie was always helping others and volunteering for just about anything where help was needed. He was a mentor at traditional ceremonies; he was a very traditional person, belonging to the Bitter Water (maternal clan) and Coyote Pass People (paternal clan). His greatest love was his grandchildren. Later in his life he was a livestock owner and rancher. He is survived by his wife Darlene; 9 children: Eleanor Chavez, Charlotte Davis, Marlene Brown, Dalton Davis, Lenora Davis, Fredrick Davis, Ronald Davis, Cinco Davis and Julianna Davis; a step-children: Tami Phillips, Jennifer Johnson, Gayleen Jackson, Johnny Johnson, Sherry Johnson, Darrel Nez, Darlene Nez and Debra Benally; 2 brothers: Wilson Davis, Sr. and Anthony Davis, Sr. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michael's, Arizona. Burial will follow at the Kinlichee Cemetery. Arrangements were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary in Holbrook, Arizona.
