Max Goklish

Max Goklish, age 81, of Whiteriver, Arizona died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Sierra Blanca Nursing home in Lakeside, Arizona. Max worked and retired with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Williams Creek and Alchesay Fish Hatchery. Max was a stockman and cattle rancher at Forestdale. He rodeoed starting at age 7 years old and was a champion/legendary cowboy. He is survived by his wife Mildred of Whiteriver; his children: Blessing, Vernadale, Stevie, Martinez, Sharon, Wayne, Maxine and Joann; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a brother Davis Knight, Sr. A wake will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, starting at 10 am, and Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Goklish residence 10 miles South of Hon Dah at mile marker 347. The funeral service will be at the Whiteriver Lutheran Church at 10 am on Friday, December 13, 2013. Burial will follow at the Baha Springs Cemetery in North Fork. Services were handled thru Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel of Show Low, Arizona.
