Angela Bush

March 27, 1950 — December 6, 2013

Angela "Angie" Bush Angela "Angie" Bush, 63, returned home to be with the Lord on Dec. 6, 2013. Angie was born in Ganado, AZ on March 27, 1950 and raised in Greasewood, AZ. She graduated from Wingate High School in Fort Wingate, NM in 1969 and completed a dental assistant program at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS in 1970. At Haskell she met Rainbolt Bush, whom she married in 1971. She relocated with Rainbolt, her husband of 42 years, to Whiteriver in 1975. Taken by the picturesque ponderosa pines and mountains, she remained there until her death. After 37 years of service as a dental assistant, Angie retired from the Indian Health Service in 2007. She was a member of East Fork Lutheran Church in Whiteriver, where she developed a strong faith in God. She was well-known for her friendly, outgoing personality and warm smile. She spoke three languages: Navajo, Apache and English. An avid University of Arizona Wildcats fan, Angie attended games and wore team colors and logos. She loved spending time with her family, which includes four children and five grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, playing card games and listening to country artist George Jones. In her heyday, Angie liked to run. Her favorite meal was mutton stew. Angie is survived by her husband, Rainbolt Bush of Whiteriver; her children: Loren (Vadonna) Bush of Hondah, Dr. Gerald Bush of Phoenix, Raina (Mark) Vataha of Whiteriver and Crystal Bush of Phoenix; grandchildren: Khalid Alonzo Vataha, Ezekiel Gabriel Lupe; Siena Pashen Vataha, Lola Hope Ivora Bush and Nikki Heaven Vataha; siblings: Isabel Mitchell, Frank (Rita) Begaye, Lee (Helen) Begaye and Pauline (Mike) Bain; and godchildren: Shea Hinton; Jeanell Walker Paddlety, April Parker, Claudia Griggs, Shimmy Thompson and Bilson Opah. Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and John Begaye; brothers, Joe Begaye and Harry Begaye; and godchild, Llwellyn Mitchell. A funeral service was held Dec. 11, 2013 at East Fork Lutheran Church.
