Bob Evans

Bob Evans, age 74, of Pinetop, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2013. He was born on July 27, 1939 in Lawrence, Mississippi, to the late Charlie and Lucille Evans. His stepmother, Catherine "Big Mama" Allen also had a major influence in his life. He attended Newton Vocational High School, where he was Valedictorian. He recently earned the distinction of The Best Male Athlete in the school's history. Bob studied Economics at Tougaloo Southern Christian College. Bob was married to Eloise Ward on February 27, 1965. They were married 48 years. Bob made an impact both in the workplace and in the community. Known as a hard worker and faithful employee, Bob held several management positions, served as Union President, and was one of the top-producing managers in his company's history. Also, his passion for education was reflected by his term as President of the School Board for the McNary School District. Bob was a ferocious competitor, and yet a kind person. He always enjoyed a good verbal debate. He was an avid football fan, loved the outdoors, and especially liked hiking and walking. Bob is survived by his wife, Eloise Evans, and two children, Lisa Lavette Evans and Lionel Vincent Evans; grandchildren Shontia Marie Ross, Drexal A. Anderson, Devante Juwuan Evans, and Lidia-Jaymes Pendleton-Evans; and great-grandchildren Saniyah Monet James and Alyssah Lanay Steele; and aunts Adie Simon and Francis Bridges. He was also survived by numerous friends and relatives. A homegoing service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. John's Baptist Church in Holbrook, Arizona at 1:00 p.m. with graveside to follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
